Breaking Open the Immortality Key
Brian Muraresku, first special guest, joins me for new one-month seminar
The other day I had my debut on the new audio social network Clubhouse, which has become a sensation. I spoke about my work for a few hours in a club, Burnt Chicken. Near the end of my discussion, The Immortality Key author Brian Muraresku jumped into the conversation. He said my first book, Breaking Open the Head, was what inspired him twelve years ago to begin his own investigation into psychedelics and the origin of religion. His research culminated in his bestselling book, which investigates psychedelic gnosis in early Christianity and the Mysteries of Eleusis, among other subjects. “I read Breaking Open the Head and then bought all of the books you listed in your bibliography. That was how I started my research,” he said on Clubhouse.
Brian’s new book has been praised by many, including Andrew Weil: "In The Immortality Key, Muraresku reconstructs the forgotten history of psychedelics in the development of Western civilization. His analysis of the roots of Christianity will shake the foundation of organized religion and point the way to a revolution in consciousness." Interestingly, Brian, a lawyer in Washington DC, made the decision not to take psychedelics himself, which has perhaps made his work more accessible for a mainstream audience. He has been featured on Joe Rogan, CNN, and across the mainstream media.
On February 14, Muraresku will join me live during my seminar, Breaking Open the Head and the Psychedelic Renaissance, which starts this Sunday. I intend to add a few more special guests during the month-long course. Please join us before Sunday, if you haven’t yet. You can use the promo code AreYouExperienced for $133 tickets for all four sessions. If you really want to attend but require a steeper discount, please email me -- Daniel.firstname.lastname@example.org — and let’s work it out. My goal with these seminars is to build a robust, ongoing community exploring these wonderful and mysterious subjects together.
My four-week Seminar on Breaking Open the Head and the Psychedelic Renaissance starts February 7. More info and tickets here. Low-priced tickets available for paying subscribers.
