Thiel and Musk’s family histories in South Africa and before that in Germany and Canada respectively also support these far-right leanings. Sometimes I think this Yarvin kid get’s too much credit for regurgitating well-established anti-democratic propaganda tropes that don’t add up to a coherent viable philosophy. These ideas are old. Some are westernizations of Alexandr Dugin’s Russian propaganda mill. Most of his ideas are also just rehashed anti-democratic propaganda. Musk’s grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, was part of a banned organization in the 1940’s in Canada called Technocracy Inc. that recommended removing democracy, installing a Technocrat Monarchy, consolidating North America into a Technate (including Greenland) and staying out of foreign entanglements (I.e.leaving Europe to Germany). Here are a couple of links. There is more available out there for anyone who wants to do more research.
I'm bewildered by these audacious un-American attacks. I'm at a loss for a meaningful and potent response. An ancient Celtic myth, called "The Two Battles of Moytura," features a character named Bres the Beautiful who is a ringer for Trump. "Bres was a man of no hospitality, no generosity befitting a king...No wisp of smoke from any roof in Erin went untaxed." There's much more about this oaf, but you get the picture. Bres was undermined by the Chief Bard of Erin, when he visited Bres at the royal palace, he was treated like an unwelcome beggar. The Chief-Bard left the next day, and wrote the first satire ever made in Ireland, which made Bres' luck dwindle from him without delay. I'm considering producing a puppet show that will poke fun at Trump and modernity in general. That's the best thing I can think of. If anyone has better ideas, please share them with us.
I hope this suit is reapproached with valid standing. The initiative seems to violate the Privacy Act of 1974, no? The Privacy Act was passed, presumably based on real experience vs. hypotheticals. The idea that threats to data privacy are isolated to specific cases and hypothetical until re-experienced once again in a new platform seems like quite a stretch. I will send a note to my senators and congressional reps requesting that the take any action they can to support ending yet another illegal executive order planned to be administered by predatory far right anti-democratic fascist naturalized citizens to this country who blithely disregard the oath they have sworn to our constitution.
Reminds me of the 1960s cartoon by Ron Cobb (who did many--look them up) showing people wearing letters sitting on a bench under a sign saying what lettered classes of citizens can be in the park. Surrounding them are armed police and a tank. One says to the other, "Well at least we don't have to worry about anarchists anymore." (Later that was changed to "terrorists", same difference.) Life imitates art, if we let it.
Thank you Daniel, that is a very clear and correctly stated perception of where we are. I appreciate the succinct encapsulation. We do need to rise up and stop this regime that does not seem to know American history, before all that is left is the dream.
I’ve been thinking about Plato’s arguments against democracy ever since Trump 1.0. However, his solution of installing Philosopher Kings to rule also seems problematic.
The trajectory of the United States appears, at this point, to be locked into collapse and capture. But there’s an opportunity in that: it creates space for other nations to observe, learn, and build safeguards before the same dynamics take hold. One of the most critical steps is the development of digital public infrastructure—not just as modernization, but as defense. Without it, citizen data will remain exposed to platforms owned by foreign oligarchs, reinforcing the very economic and cultural capture that’s hollowing out sovereignty.
There are international mechanisms available to respond to these collapse drivers—chief among them: targeted sanctions. The global community can act decisively by sanctioning not just oligarchs, but the executives, board members, investors, major donors, and political and media elites who have enabled and sustained their rise. These individuals operate transnationally, profiting from global instability. Their mobility and wealth must be constrained, or they will continue reshaping the world to serve themselves at collective expense.
In response to this moment, I’ve published The Perfect Political Platform—a single-term transitional governance framework built with Canada in mind, but adaptable anywhere. It proposes a new political logic, built around three core pillars:
1. Reclaim Democracy – through global electoral reform, universal campaign finance standards, and robust civic education.
2. Accountability Inquisition – by opening transparent investigations into global systems, including pandemic response, financial capture, and hidden technologies.
3. Empowerment Through Technology – through ethical public sector AI, open-source tooling, and universal digital access.
It’s not a permanent party—it’s a scaffolding designed for transition, a vehicle for doing the necessary work before the global wave of oligarchic collapse arrives full force.
No gallows humor, please. Yes, things are so frightening as to induce paralysis, unless, UNLESS we resolve to fight to the last woman, the last child, the last man, maybe the last tree for all I know. How do we fight? What can anyone suss out in advance? Identifying and recruiting the resistance now would seem to be the task at hand: people who understand AI and Robotics and who don't have Nazi-derivative delusions of grandeur. People who understand how to grow food and build shelter sand facilitate safe, open communications. People capable of raising healthy children with robus coping skills.
Why is an unelected and unapproved illegal agency taking entire control of our government and our collective lives? Did we elect them?? I feel like a hostage and they voted in a bunch of larcenists to come inside my home and rifle through my computer, phone and papers and then ransack and rob it of its valuables all while being held at gunpoint by a fascist Gestapo who would kill us if we tried to block them from the total illegal entrance into our sacred innermost sanctum without a warrant. Our entire existence is being threatened!! This is absolutely illegal but of course the law is only there for democrats to follow. Trump is a terrorist and needs to be treated like one while he is obviously holding this country hostage against our will and refusing to allow our constitution to protect us.
Not to sprinkle corroded battery acid on your coupcake, but you may be less delighted "to read that the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, decided to not entirely shred the Constitution yesterday," when you read this: https://jonathandryan.substack.com/p/the-trapdoor-verdict by civil rights & immigration attorney, Jonathan Ryan, on what this ruling actually enables the Gov't to do. Or, TL/DR, my poetic summation on LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/4ctGq9b

Wow! But I would not call them Nazi because that just complicates the text with unnecessary historical references. It is greed for money and power, lack of compassion, adulation of strong and ruthless men... Just alll the bad traits present in humans since ages.
Thank you for keeping us abreast of this threat to life and liberty and of the others you have been tracking and exposing. As regards your comment, "... unless we rise up (ha!) to stop it immediately..." I think it is important for any of us commenting on the size and nature of resistance to the Queens Pig/Ketamine Kid fascist authoritarian takeover to 1) take care to make an accurate assessment of the resistance movement and 2) if our assessment finds the movement inadequate, then answer the questions: Why isn't it adequate/Why aren't more people participating in it? What structural aspects are lacking?
My comment is not the run of the mill, "Well, what do you suggest we do?" That is a reactive response and most people critiquing the size and nature of the resistance do, in fact, suggest concrete ideas for effective resistance. Resistance to the type of authoritarian coup we face requires: time to develop, sound organizing strategies/principles/structures and mass (3% of the population/11 million Americans) participation. Effective resistance must be dynamic and multifaceted, and among the populace, it must ultimately involve: mass strikes and boycott. If we ourselves answer the question "Why isn't more happening?" our analysis could result in greater participation. We must ask ourselves: What issues related to free time, American culture, American history, civic life, economic conditions, geography, work schedules, public transit, city planning, family commitments, the shattering & disbanding leftist movements in the US post-1960s, etc. are preventing this movement from growing and being more effective?
Contrary to popular belief, 21st century America has seen an impressive array of mass popular movements: Anti-Iraq War, Occupy, Standing Rock, Black Lives Matter & campus protests vs. the war on Palestine. Recognizing the sacrifice and importance of those movements and then strategizing to grow this one are what is needed. An estimated 5 million Americans protested last Saturday afternoon in cities and towns big and small across the country. Ongoing Tesla Take Down protests have severely harmed that company's bottom line. And popular disapproval of what the regime is pursuing continues to grow. The resistance can grow and can grow to be more and more effective. Along those lines, here's a link to a group organizing for a mass strike. They have a ticker going tracking how many people commit, with an activation goal of 11 million. https://generalstrikeus.com/

It was Plato who asked “does not tyranny spring from democracy?" in the Republic. Was it inevitable that 'liberalism' would end in tyranny?

a virus, unearthly to unearth earth
so put your ears to ground out
mirror of lies
as a foot
soldiers on behalf of all life
The less humane the les human
Process of becoming, flowering unfurling
Petal sweeter vibrations
Up to each of us to fine tune
Resonance with the power of love, greatest force
on earth. Not this external power convincing as
Oz. Anesthetized by sugary coated scrim crap
Warp'd to tight. Change the way to become
Who we truly are—so
human we're divine
By raising our own resonance.
