Inspecting the Jeffrey Epstein Hyperobject
Power, sex, and the omni-conspiracy
I am thinking about Jeffrey Epstein as a “hyperobject.” Sorry, but this isn’t going to be the most cheerful piece! I was going to go whale-watching today and intended to write about the humpbacks in Jamaica Bay, but our tour was canceled by gale-force winds, so I had more time to contemplate the Epstein hyperobject.
“Epstein embodies the omni-conspiracy,” notes City Journal. According to Eric Weinstein — who works for Peter Thiel as part of the techno-feudal cabal — even when he met Epstein, he seemed less like a person than a “construct of something that was running multiple things.” The facade of the “mysterious billionaire financier” was a false front for various intelligence, psychosexual, and mysteriously occult operations. In the wake of Epstein, the “omni-conspiracy” continues to unfold, with devastating consequences in the U.S. and globally.
Like many people, I find I have an unhealthy fixation on the daily news right now. I read smatterings of the 20,000 just-released emails via searchable databases, survey podcasts on the split within MAGA over the Epstein files, and reflect on Epstein (as well as Trump, another “hyperobject” or facade) in the context of the New York City where I have lived for most of my life. I admit my media fixation feels like a trap — part of the larger “occult spell” cast over us, propelling our society toward fragmentation and disintegration. There is little hope of emancipation in this deluge of awful.
The reason for my fixation is, however, logical. I’m yearning, praying, for the gangster oligarchy that has taken over the country to overreach and destroy itself. I want to see them fully alienated from their MAGA base to the point where its base turns against then dramatically.
