Conversation with David Z Morris, author of "Stealing the Future"

Hi folks,

I will be holding a Substack Live at 2 pm EST today with David Z. Morris.

David is the author of Stealing the Future: Sam Bankman-Fried, Elite Fraud, and the Cult of Techno-Utopia. He is a longtime technology and finance journalist for outlets including Fortune Magazine, where he helped expose fraud at Trevor Milton’s Nikola Motor; and CoinDesk, where he predicted the collapse of the Luna ponzi scheme; worked with the team that unmasked FTX and its mastermind, Sam Bankman-Fried; and created and wrote Crypto Crooks, a documentary podcast about cryptocurrency investment fraud.

Prior to his career in journalism, David was an academic historian of technology. He holds a PhD from the University of Iowa and is a former visiting scholar at the University of South Florida and Tokyo University of Fine Arts (Geidai). His scholarly work on sound has appeared in journals including Critical Studies in Media Communication and Liminalities.
