The Eighth Sphere
Are deviant spiritual forces dragging humanity toward a degraded lower dimension?
Right now I am deep-diving into Occulted, Gigi Young’s wonderful YouTube channel. I will take some time to explore Young’s ideas and her approach in this and following essays. Her primary influence is Rudolf Steiner, although other esoteric traditions are discussed.
Young does a fantastic job making occult and esoteric ideas accessible to the people! She tracks how a dark occult force expresses itself through the contemporary subconscious in pop culture, politics, technology, and other areas. She approaches this difficult and delicate area very sensitively, as an honest investigator or “spiritual scientist.” She is one of the only esoteric researchers I can bear to watch right now. When I listen to her, I don’t feel I am being manipulated in some subtle way. I don’t find an inappropriate literalism or materialist misconception skulking in the background. I get a sense of intellectual coherence and harmony. I hardly know anything about her background, except she claims she had a direct experience of initiation. I hope to learn more.
I want to explore a few of Young’s videos, which you may want to watch for yourself. This includes her explorations of “The Eighth Sphere,” a concept from Rudolf Steiner. “Only when we feel terrified and like the world is ending will we ever accept the religion of the Eighth Sphere,” she says. She investigates Charlie Kirk’s assassination, which fell between a lunar and solar eclipse, as a ritual blood sacrifice supporting the agenda of an occult ruling elite — I agree that this is what it felt like, intuitively. In another video, she explores the efforts to rebuild the Third Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, as well as Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth’s dangerous links to both Jewish maniacs — who believe they need to build the Third Temple to bring the Messiah — and Christian fanatics who are trying to force all of the prophetic events outlined in Revelation of John to happen in reality, as soon as possible, because they believe this will cause the Second Coming and Rapture. In another great video on sex magic and the Whore of Babylon archetype, she looks as OnlyFans as a kind of techno-occult black magic, operating on a global scale.
I know that most contemporary people do not accept what Young and Steiner explore. For instance, most people don’t take seriously the idea that not only could there be a spiritual world, as well as a lower and higher astral plane, but this nonphysical cosmos could be populated by beings, entities, or forces that we need to delineate and define, if we are going to truly understand what is happening here, in our world. According to Steiner and Young, these forces work upon us in different ways, all of the time. Also, the idea of the Eighth Sphere only makes sense if you have some idea of reincarnation — a continuity of some part of our being, our essence, after death. Steiner believed that not only do we reincarnate individually over successive lifetimes, but the Earth itself reincarnates. In Outline of Occult Science and other works, he describes how humanity takes various forms in different phases of the Earth’s evolution.
I do sense that theories on spirits and demons are gaining traction, albeit often in a crude way. Many people are now at least subliminally aware of an occult dimension to human affairs and geopolitics, although they often collapse into belief in degraded conspiracy theories which offer partial truths at best. Ecological and Christian visionary Paul Kingsnorth was just interviewed by Ross Douthat for The New York Times. In a very interesting interview, Kingsnorth discusses the possibility of spiritual forces or entities linked with the mechanical realm. Tucker Carlson is popularizing the idea of literal “demons,” which he probably associates with secular liberalism.
Many people in the New Age community believe in mediums, channels, aliens, and ETs, but often in a confused, chaotic way. I believe it is important we investigate all of this with care, seeking logical coherence. Because this is not something we can investigate through purely empirical methods based on physical evidence, the proper approach requires different cognitive faculties such as intuition and imagination, a poetic sensitivity to subconscious resonances and awareness of shifting social and even geophysical realities.
Let’s start with the Eighth Sphere. For Young, as for Steiner, there are various angelic forces or beings that guide humanity toward a positive evolution as cosmic agents, linked to the Christ impulse in the West. Steiner used traditional names for these beings from the Western hermetic lineage: Angeloi (“messengers”), Archangel (“chief messengers”), Cherubim (“spirits of love”), Thrones (“spirits of will”), Archai, (“spirits of personality”), and so on. Each has a specific function in the cosmos, and a particular relationship to human evolution.
However, there are also nonphysical forces or spiritual entities that seek to divert humanity and exploit us for their own purposes, to serve their development. Steiner defined three main types of these beings as Luciferic, Ahrimanic, and Asuric. In a sense, these forces join together (even though they have somewhat different intentions) to drag humanity into the Eighth Sphere, a false cosmos or fake spiritual reality. For Steiner, there are seven “spheres” or dimensions in the occult cosmos: Saturn, Sun, Moon, Earth, Jupiter, Venus, Vulcan. These are not the physical planets we see in the sky, but names for seven stages or “incarnations” of the Earth as a cosmic being. “Vulcan” is the last of these seven, the most spiritual and most remote in the future.
