Really . . . creating an NFT after all we know about how much energy they use to market? Seems totally counter to all you've been sharing. Perhaps you need to explain this a bit . . . ?
Maybe I don't understand, but what does Ethereum have to do with marketing an NFT? The whole idea of NFT's just seems to go against the grain of all your write about.
What made the NFTs energy hogs is they were trading on Ethereum which used a lot of energy until it changed from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake a few months ago.
Whenever I read this I must inform folks that having bank offices, bank branches, the fed, money printing, forex, atms, and bank employees, etc., all over the world, takes way more energy and resources than crypto/NFT systems. Also crypto can utilize alt energy more easily.
If crypto and NFTs replaced the entire banking system it would highly likely take far less energy, less land, less water, etc.
Hmmmm. Well, a quick search on the web says the opposite: "The storage methods used to house NFTs based on blockchain technology are responsible for emitting millions of tons of carbon dioxide, which is harmful to an already overheated planet." And sure if we suddenly got rid of all the banks, fed, printing, etc., and everyone immediately adopted crypto systems that would be better but come on . . . that's pure hopium and not gonna happen.
Banks fear people will realize this also. I was in an annual meeting for a foundation and the fund manager from the bank started melting when someone asked him if the bank was concerned about defi taking over consumer banking due to its increased efficiency.
I also encourage you to watch this talk about how archaic the current transaction system is: https://youtu.be/dD2-T7TX2rk
Very cool! Wish I could come but already have plans.
I feel you on the art scene though.
The last Art Basel was mundane. It’s like the return to normal from the pandemic displaced people mentally. Nothing felt new. Whereas the prior Basel felt super exciting and full of NFT energy, which rang fresh, despite its flaws. Hopeful that this vibrancy returns in a better form.
Amazing !

Ethereum changed its protocols so it isn’t such an energy user.

Gotta dream big. If we don’t believe in some hopium, we can’t elevate society higher.

Very excited to see where this goes!
