Hi Daniel,

I didn’t see a post for the first podcast, so I’ll post this here. I was very intrigued by a casual remark you made around 7:22 about seeing the spirit of Ibugo as a wooden statue walking across the room. Was there an actual wooden statue in the ceremony room that seemed to come to life, or was that simply the form the visionary presence took?

I ask because Wouter Hanegraaff’s recent Hermetic Spirituality and the Historical Imagination: Altered States of Knowledge in Late Antiquity discusses statues of the gods coming to life during theurgic ceremonies. Do you cover your Ibugo experience in more detail in your book?

Thanks!

Troy
